The Good Stuff

As you might have noticed Monday, I got post-writing happy last week and started scheduling posts, (but forgot to put pictures into Monday's...oops). Lack of blogging is largely due to wanting to talk about things in a certain order but not being the least bit ready to do it that way, so I'm tossing order out the window and going for topics I've got the photos for.

That said, here's what I'm sure you've been waiting for: the knitted wedding dress!


Complete with me-made crushed tulle underskirt and me-crafted ribbon belt. "Crafted" is maybe too strong a word for the belt. I literally pinned two flowers to a piece of ribbon. It looks gorgeous, though.


Yet, that is not the limit of my craftiness! Oh no! Naturally, we needed a personalized cake-topper. I whipped it up super quickly, super last-minute with the help of the clay stash of my friend Ali.


Aren't they the sweetest? We think so too. :)


And that is as far as I've delved into our wedding and honeymoon pictures. There are a lot of them. :P I can understand why photographers charge so much to take, evaluate, and edit photos. It's going to take us years at the rate we are going....

    I LOVE your dress, if I could knit I would definitely have made something similar for my wedding. The cake toppers are adorable also, we have not decided our cake toppers other than that they have to be bunnies, and it would be a plus if they looked like our buns. :)

      Thank you! We knew ours had to be bunnies too. I had more time to make them than to go out and find the perfect ones. I hope you find the perfect cake topper!

    The whole dress! What a great picture! I love the runners (I wore white runners under my wedding dress, too) and the cake bunnies!

      Thank you! They aren't actually runners, though they do look like it here. They have a little heel. I can't think of what they are called...oxfords? These things: http://www.modcloth.com/shop/shoes-heels/dance-instead-of-walking-heel-in-cream

    So much loveliness! You are so beautiful in that dress. I think your little boots were the perfect vintage touch. I can't believe you tackled that project, Vanessa. I know your confidence as a knitter must have skyrocketed. How did I miss this post? I've been waiting to see your dress on you since you first posted that you'd be making it. Oh, and your cake topper was absolutely perfect for you guys!

    Oh, ok, I enlarged your photo and see they were oxfords, not booties- still a great vintage choice.
