A Mellow Summer Day

The clouds are so pretty today! You'd never know it was miserably hot out and potentially fixin' to storm a lot. :) We finally caved and turned on the air yesterday. The bunnies were miserable. Makes for good knitting weather in-doors!

Here's everything I showed you last week in a pile by the couch.

The striped one is a pullover. I had to rip it all out after I showed it to you last week because my raglan modifications weren't right. :P They are now! Or close enough anyway. The white is my wedding dress. It has probably only grown a row, but we're on better terms now, so it will grow more quickly now. :)

I've also been working on my Celestarium. It's moving along much faster than I expected. It's much more mindless than I expected, too. Not all rows have yarn-overs, so I can happily knit from marker to marker without a thought. When there are yarn-overs, I count ever so carefully to that point, then knit mindlessly onward. I don't have to think about the beads, either, which is really nice. I just knit to the yarn-over from the previous row and place a bead. Easy-peasy. I keep waiting for some disaster to happen. Fingers crossed it doesn't come!

It's Knit In Public Week! Have you knit in public yet? Plans to? Where are you knitting? I usually knit at a coffee shop once or twice a week with my friends. This week is no different. I hope you are more adventurous in your public knitting!

  1. Your WIP wedding dress reminds me of the soft glowing edges of the pretty clouds in your first picture, can't wait to see your progress on it!

  2. I love how you steel yourself for some horrible disaster too, I do the exact same thing when a project is going a little too well. One of these days I'll make my own Celestarium, but luckily in the meantime I can watch your progress. I'm trying to guesstimate how long it will take you to finish your dress...probably no time at all.

    1. I'm hoping all of Celestarium's troubles have simply migrated to the wedding dress because that dress has caused me so many problems! I'm pretty well on track with it now, though, so I hope it does take no time at all!

  3. that cloud picture is great!

i'm glad the bunnies are happier! we've only had a small handful of miserable hot days. i drag my feet as long as i can to put in the air conditioners, because they block half the light from the window in any room they're in, which kinda bums me out.

i can't wait to see your clestarium! it's such a cool pattern. it sounds really smartly designed, too!

  4. Oh man, we've had our A/C on since February! I, too, have a pile on the couch. I think it's so cool that you are knitting your wedding dress. Though it is difficult at the moment, think how much you will treasure it one day!
