Les Messy Ness

Outfit the First! (I'm a day behind, it seems)

Banana Republic: cardi; Gap: tee; mystery: skirt; American Eagle: tights; Blowfish: boots

From this pin. In assembling my picks, I realized my wardrobe really lacks any subtle color like the one I pinned outside of my sweater stack. I either have crazy bright colors or gray scale. When I shop, I really need to be more conscious of color-choice!

For the next 14 days, I'm going to try to be more adventurous with my hair. I got this bun to stay up for five hours with just a hairband and two bobby pins. That's kind of a miracle for me! My hair is so thick and heavy that it is impossible to up-do for more than a half-hour before it falls all over the place. Luckily, messy is in now, so my heavy hair has a chance, eh? My make-up was super cute too, but this is a post-Les Mis shot, so...no make-up survived. :)

Go see what Rebecca mixed up! She's got a list of everyone else participating too.

  1. Aww you look so pretty! Did you knit the cardigan (sorry, I forget, you are such a prolific knitter)? I'm also so glad I'm not the only one with thick hair woes! Nothing can contain mine, people always say they wish they had thick hair but they don't know the dark side of it. Have you been trying new things with your make up?

    1. Thanks! No, I didn't knit this one. I'm working on one that is maybe too similar, so I'm going to have to think of some way to switch it up. My grandma goes on and on about how she'd love my thick hair! I tell her I'd trade her any day and she thinks I'm kidding. :P Nothing new make-up wise besides wearing it more. :)

  2. I love your skirt and boots combo! I should do an outfit challenge where I simply wear something other than yoga pants and converse all the time. I'm really trying to wear more of the things I've made and dresses etc, that I never get around to wearing. Your inspiring me.

    1. Thanks! I need to knit some legwarmers for this sort of outfit, I think. You should! I find I have to remind myself that I've made some really cute things to wear and I should wear them. :) I'd love to see you wearing your own handmade things!

  3. cute! i know what you mean about colors! i definitely don't own any subdued colored sweaters. it's alllll grayscale and colors. which is great, but subdued colors are fabulous, too.

ah, hair woes, i know thee well! except my hair will mostly stay up, so that isn't a problem.

i actually think your red legwarmers would look pretty cute as a pop of color with this outfit!
